Notre Dame football is always looking to bolster its program with top-level staffers, and on Wednesday morning they did exactly that.
CBS Sports Matt Zenitz is reporting that the Irish will hire Kenny Sanders away from Penn State, who has been the Nittany Lions director of player personnel over the last four seasons. He has previous worked at Oregon and also in the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens according to the report.

With James Frankling getting fired and moving to Virginia Tech, and Iowa State’s Matt Campbell coming in to replace him, this move by Sanders should not be surprising. This is a big hire as he’ll work directly with Mike Martin, and has familiarly with some of the staff members, most notably running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider.
While Notre Dame has recruited extremely well under head coach Marcus Freeman, bringing in another veteran voice into the front office should be seen as a big win for the Irish.
