Contrary to their public perception, many NFL players are very family-oriented,, and plenty of them have families of their own that they’re devoted to taking care of.
This Sunday was Mother’s Day, and Russell Wilson, the new quarterback of the New York Giants, set up a special celebration for his wife Ciara, with whom he has had three children.
The singer-songwriter took to her Instagram account to thank Wilson for treating her to a special Mother’s Day.
“Thank you @DangeRussWilson and my precious babies for rolling out the red carpet for me and making me feel extra special today!” she wrote. “I feel so blessed and loved! Happy Mothers Day to all the ‘Mommy’s out there! #MothersDay 🫶🏽”

Wilson has been married to Ciara since July 2016. Back then, he was still the face of the Seattle Seahawks after leading them to a Super Bowl championship during the 2013 season and taking them to the brink of back-to-back titles the following year.
With the Seahawks in slow decline, Wilson was traded to the Denver Broncos in 2022. Although some immediately pegged the Broncos as championship contenders, they played very poor football and missed the playoffs over the next two seasons.
Wilson looked to be over the hill, but last season, he turned in a solid campaign with the Pittsburgh Steelers while leading them to the playoffs.
The Giants have been in need of a legitimate quarterback for the last several years, and Wilson can at least serve as a bridge to their QB of the future. They’re hoping that Jaxson Dart, a signal-caller whom they took in the first round of last month’s draft, will be the man to lead them into the future.
Dart threw for 4,279 yards and 29 touchdowns last season at Ole Miss while helping them easily win the Gator Bowl against Duke.
