The Indiana Pacers did it again on Thursday night to begin the NBA Finals. Kick starting the NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder, it wasn’t a great start for them as the Pacers committed 19 turnovers in the first half, but that didn’t matter in the second half.
Indiana buckled down as it committed only five turnovers after halftime and rallied from a 15-point deficit in the fourth to shock the Thunder 111-110 thanks to Tyrese Haliburton. The Indiana superstar drilled a mid-range shot with 0.3 seconds left to lift the Pacers to a Game 1 win and a 1-0 lead in the series. It was the only lead Indiana held in the game.
Philadelphia 76ers star Tyrese Maxey, an avid fan of the game, took to Twitter to give his reaction to the Pacers picking up the win.
Haliburton and the Pacers will now look to take a 2-0 lead in the finals before the series shifts to Gainbridge Fieldhouse for Games 3 and 4. Game 2 is set for Sunday night at the Paycom Center.
