Star Alabama guard Labaron Philon Jr. has recently been named to The Sporting News’ 2025-26 midseason college basketball All-America team.
Philon has been elite throughout the majority of the 2025-26 campaign, as the playmaker is widely regarded as one of the top prospects in upcoming 2026 NBA draft. The Alabama guard was also recently named to the Wooden Award Midseason Top 25 list.

The sharpshooting sophomore currently leads Alabama in scoring with an impressive 21.9 points per game, as Philon continues to be an X-factor in the Tide’s backcourt on a nightly basis. A Mobile, Alabama native, Philon is also shooting 54.3% from the field throughout the first half of the season.
A former four-star recruit, Philon was ranked as the No. 4 point guard and the No. 35 overall player from the class of 2024, per the 247Sports Composite rankings. The talented sophomore has played an essential role on the Crimson Tide over the course of the last two seasons, and the star guard has shown no signs of slowing down in the near future.
Philon and the Tide will face the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday afternoon.
