Cam Heyward won’t tolerate any Pittsburgh disrespect lying down — not even from a (former) fan.
One Steelers fan’s actions went viral — as his outrage over the Aaron Rodgers signing with the Steel City caused him to film the destruction of a signed Minkah Fitzpatrick jersey. This fan filmed himself burning the jersey, then proceeded to go on a long rant about why he will no longer support the Steelers.
Heyward took to social media to directly address the situation:
“First off, why Minkah’s jersey? That’s bonkers. Second, why burn it when there are plenty of people who need clothes? Third, you’re going to regret it!!”
Some Steelers supporters aren’t thrilled that Rodgers has jumped aboard — but this was a clear overreaction on the bewildered fan’s part.
It may be wishful thinking to assume Steelers players won’t have to defend the Rodgers signing moving forward. It’s rather ironic that some Pittsburgh fans are angry about the distractions the former Jets QB could bring to the Steelers — yet it’s their own actions pulling attention away from winning.
