The Pittsburgh Steelers win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday was filled with wild and wacky plays. But perhaps the craziest part of the game happened off the field when Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf got into an altercation with a Lions fan that turned physical when Metcalf threw a punch at the fan.
Metcalf ditched the media quickly after the win, getting out of the locker room as quickly as he could to avoid any questions about the incident. Head coach Mike Tomlin wasn’t so lucky. He was asked about the incident and while he acknowledged he was informed about what happened, he wasn’t prepared to comment on it until he had a chance to talk to Metcalf about it.
It was noted during the television broadcast and by beat reporters that the NFL plans to investigate what happened and make a decision about what to do with Metcalf in terms of punishment. The Steelers take on the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens to finish out the season and cannot afford to be without Metcalf for even one game.
