Steelers’ Mason Rudolph stands up Aaron Rodgers at training camp

Steelers QB Mason Rudolph is making his presence felt early at training camp — outperforming Aaron Rodgers in the first team period of practice.

According to ESPN’s Brooke Pryor, Aaron Rodgers completed just one of three attempts — including an interception on the opening play. He also drew the defense offsides, but that wasn’t enough to compete with Rudolph’s debut: completing all four of his pass attempts against the second-team defense.

Knee-jerk reactions aside, Rudolph isn’t going to usurp the starting role at training camp, and Rodgers isn’t destined for failure after one bad outing — in fact, this will likely fuel the four-time MVP, who’s heading into his 21st and likely final season in the NFL.

We at Steelers Wire will continue to provide updates as training camp rolls on — from exciting moments like Patrick Queen’s interception of Rodgers to first looks at new players in action.
