Steelers receive promising update on Jalen Ramsey, Calvin Austin

HC Mike Tomlin revealed a promising update on two Pittsburgh Steelers dealing with significant injuries — WR Calvin Austin and CB Jalen Ramsey, who both suffered their setbacks against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4.

Regarding the injuries of Austin and Ramsey, Tomlin shared that their rehabilitation opened the door for their return to practice later in the week — incredible news considering they were both expected to miss several games.

“Two guys that we’re watching very closely — that are certainly going to be limited at the front part of the week, but may perk up and be included toward the latter part of the week — are Calvin Austin with his shoulder and Jalen Ramsey with his hamstring,” Tomlin told reporters. “Both have been highly aggressive from a rehabilitation standpoint during the bye week, and so, really encouraged about the potential of those guys. But we’ll take it, certainly, day-to-day.”

On Wednesday’s injury report, Austin and Ramsey were both listed as non-participants. Fans should hope they can upgrade to at least limited participants by the end of the week, which could open the door for a Week 7 return against the Bengals on Thursday Night Football — only made possible by the “aggressive” rehab they’ve undergone.
