Bad Bunny may have fallen short of the record for most-watched Super Bowl halftime show during his performance. But he quickly rose to the most-watched halftime show of all time hours after the event.
Bad Bunny drew in 4.157 billion viewers across global and U.S. broadcasts of the game, YouTube and on other digital properties in the first 24 hours after his performance, Roc Nation announced Monday.
That number, while staggering, shouldn’t come as a massive surprise, as Bad Bunny has far more international appeal than arguably any other artist who has taken the stage for the Super Bowl. International fans who didn’t watch Bad Bunny’s performance live made a point to find the event after the fact and watch it on another platform.

While Bad Bunny set the record for most-watched Super Bowl halftime show after 24 hours, he fell short of the viewership record during his performance. His live performance at the Super Bowl drew 128.2 million viewers, making it the fourth-highest viewed halftime show. Kendrick Lamar, who performed at the event last year, holds the live viewership record with 133.5 million viewers. Michael Jackson — 133.4 million viewers and Usher — 129.3 million viewers — are the only other people to exceed Bad Bunny’s live viewership numbers.
Bad Bunny — whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio — drew strong reviews for his energetic and entertaining halftime show. With the performance, he became the first-ever halftime show performer to mostly perform in Spanish throughout the event.

His performance proved to be arguably the most exciting part of the game prior to the fourth quarter. The Seattle Seahawks were mostly in control throughout the event, leading the New England Patriots fairly comfortably before both teams finally scored multiple touchdowns in the fourth quarter.
Despite fighting hard to get back in the game, the Patriots ultimately fell short, losing 29-13.
