Tennessee reportedly joins MSU in battle for 5-star CG Darius Adams

Michigan State and Tennessee were both finalists for 5-star combo guard Darius Adams before he committed to UConn in the fall

There is now another known team in the battle with Michigan State for a five-star guard in the 2025 class.

Mike Wilson of the Knoxville News Sentinel reported on Wednesday afternoon that Tennessee will hold a Zoom meeting with five-star combo guard Darius Adams. This report from Wilson came out only a few hours after various Michigan State insider outlets reported that the Spartans are making a strong push for Adams.

Michigan State and Tennessee were both finalists for Adams in his original recruitment, but he committed to UConn over the Spartans and Vols last fall. In the last week, Adams has decommitted from the Huskies and opened his recruitment back up as one of the top remaining prospects in the 2025 class.

Adams ranks as the No. 4 combo guard in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2025 class. He’s also listed as the No. 23 overall prospect in the class.

Adams is considered a perfect match for what Michigan State currently needs on its 2025-26 roster. Adams could potentially step in right away as a starting guard, while also possessing the ability to serve as a backup point guard for Jeremy Fears Jr. when needed.

This is a quickly moving recruitment so stay with Spartans Wire for all of the latest updates on Adams.
