Terry McLaurin has been Washington’s most consistent and reliable player since he was first drafted as a third-round steal in 2019. He’s coming off a career year and getting more of the national attention he deserves as a top-10 wide receiver in the league in PFF’s newest rankings.
PFF has Terry McLaurin as the 10th-best receiver in the league going into this season, and joins some elite company, like Mike Evans, Nico Collins, and Tyreek Hill. McLaurin finally had a quarterback in his sixth year, and the numbers showed why he is an elite wide receiver. In offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury’s scheme, and with Jayden Daniels throwing to him consistently, McLaurin had his most catches since 2020, and almost doubled his season-high touchdown mark. Terry finished the season with 82 catches for 1,096 yards and broke the franchise record for touchdowns in a season with 13.
Terry McLaurin has been a fan favorite, and the only bright spot for many dark days for Washington fans, but he has all the makings of a special run to finish out his career, and hopefully end his career in Washington. He’s turning 30 this next season, but doesn’t look to be slowing down anytime soon. McLaurin showed up in the big games when it mattered most, including endless touchdowns in the final minutes of games, and even on the special playoff run last season with a major run of 227 yards total in the playoffs, and scored a touchdown in every road playoff game, including the NFC Championship.
Daniels looked Terry’s way early and often, and they unlocked their special connection early in the season on a big stage with a prime-time game in Cincinnati, where Daniels dropped a bomb to Terry for a touchdown to put the nail in the coffin on the Bengals.
McLaurin can take another step this next season with another year with Daniels and Kingsbury, and GM Adam Peters added help with Deebo Samuel and Jaylin Lane as new weapons to take attention off of him. The former Buckeye is also looking to get his contract extended before the season starts, and hopefully gets locked in to stay in Washington for the rest of his career.
