Texas A&M will host 2026 5-star forward Caleb Gaskins this weekend

Texas A&M’s 2025-2026 basketball season will be led by head coach Bucky McMillan, who has been hard at work on the recruiting trail, looking to add at least two or more commitments in the 2026 recruiting class, which could include five-star forward Caleb Gaskins, who will reportedly visit College Station this weekend, which is a significant step for the first-year head coach.

So far, 2026 four-star combo guard Neiko Mundey is McMillan’s first and only commit in the cycle, and while he has sent a long list of offers, Gaskins’ visit is even more vital, knowing that time is running out before final decisions need to be made. Under former head coach Buzz Williams, landing elite prospects like Gaskins was nearly impossible. While it will be a challenging task to finish the job, McMillan has already raised the bar.

On the court, Gaskins is considered elite for plenty of reasons, starting with his 7’1″ wingspan, defensive instincts, and growing skillset as a complete player once he becomes an efficient shooter after averaging 20 points per game and 10 rebounds per contest during his stint with the Nike Elite Youth Basketball team.

According to Rivals, Gaskins is the 12th-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, the 5th-ranked small forward, and the No. 1-ranked prospect in Florida.
