This prime-time game named a ‘must watch’ for Giants fans

The New York Giants have the toughest schedule in the NFL this season with 10 of their 17 games coming against 2024 playoff teams.

They face their NFC East opponents twice each, the AFC West, and the NFC North in what is being called a brutal stretch for a team that finished 3-14 last year.

So, which of their 17 games is considered a “must-watch” event?

Charlotte Carroll of The Athletic believes Big Blue’s Week 13 trip to New England in prime time will be the most interesting.

Patriots QB Drake Maye is always going to be the one who got away. The Giants tried to move up to No. 3 to select Maye in the 2024 NFL Draft, but were rebuffed by New England. He went on to produce an excellent rookie campaign and has the Patriots back on the ascent. Meanwhile, the Giants aren’t yet sure if they have a QB of the future on their roster. They drafted Jaxson Dart in the first round this year, but until he gets onto the field, it will be impossible to know for sure what they have. Perhaps in this marquee Monday night matchup late in the season we’ll get to see Maye and Dart square off. — Charlotte Carroll

Two former league powers trying to regain their footing as contenders should garner plenty of interest. With any luck one, or both, teams will still be in the playoff hunt. It will be a strange pairing considering the history of the two clubs. If it is Dart vs Maye, this will truly be a must-watch.

Another angle is the head-to-head matchup at head coach where two former Bill Belichick assistants — Brian Daboll and Mike Vrabel — meet for the first time since 2022. Daboll, in his debut as Giants’ head coach, defeated Vrabel’s Tennessee Titans in Nashville, 21-20.
