Three pitchers earn all-conference honors from SEC

Three LSU pitchers earned spots on the All-SEC teams after the Tigers’ pitching staff was one of the SEC’s best all year.

Ace Kade Anderson led the way, securing spots on the conference’s first-team and defensive team. Zac Cowan and Anthony Eyanson earned first and second team nods, respectively.

Anderson and Eyanson developed into one of the most potent weekend duos in the country. As the regular Friday and Saturday starters, the pair rank second and third, respectively, in the SEC with over 81 innings pitched and 120 strikeouts apiece.

In his first season of Power Four baseball, Cowan developed into one of the Tigers’ most reliable relievers. His six saves rank inside the SEC’s top 10. Head coach Jay Johnson relies on Cowan in late-game situations, especially in conference play. Cowan pitched twice in a weekend during five SEC series.

Kade Anderson

Anderson earned first-team and all-defensive team recognition from the SEC. In his first season as a full-time starter for LSU, he’s considered one of the best left-handers in college baseball.

In 2025, Anderson is 7-1 with 133 strikeouts and a 3.47 ERA through 83 innings pitched. He finished with 10 or more strikeouts eight times, six of which came against SEC teams. Ahead of his first postseason as a starter, he ranks inside the top 10 of MLB prospects for the 2025 Draft.

Anthony Eyanson

The SEC named Eyanson to its second team for his efforts as the Saturday starter for LSU. Following two seasons at UC San Diego, he solidified a weekend starting role and came alive during the conference slate with LSU. In his best outing of the season, the junior struck out 14 in a complete-game win over Texas A&M. He followed the effort with 11 strikeouts through six innings in a win over Arkansas.

Through 81.1 innings and 14 starts, Eyanson owns a 2.88 ERA and 121 strikeouts. He set a season-high of 15 strikeouts against North Alabama in March and pitched at least five innings in all but two of his starts against SEC opponents.

Zac Cowan

Cowan, a first-team All-SEC honoree, boasts a 2.38 ERA and 53 strikeouts through 45.1 innings pitched. He pitched more than an inning 10 times against SEC opponents, reflecting his starting experience from two seasons at Wofford.

Ahead of his first postseason with LSU, Cowan will continue to earn appearances in high-leverage situations. LSU will need a big month from Cowan if the Tigers eye a return to Omaha.
