Tennessee will kick off its 2025 football season on Aug. 30 against Syracuse. The contest will take place at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.
Officials for the 2025 Aflac Kickoff Game announced a start time and television network for the season opener. Kickoff between the Vols and Orange is slated for noon EDT and will be televised by ABC.
South Carolina versus Virginia Tech will also play in an Aflac Kickoff Game. The Gamecocks and Hokies will face each other on Aug. 31 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium (3 p.m. EDT, ESPN).
“We’re kicking off the 2025 season here in the capital of college football with two terrific ACC versus SEC matchups,” Peach Bowl, Inc. CEO and president Gary Stokan said. “For nearly two decades the Aflac Kickoff Game has been the leader in neutral-site opening weekend matchups. That will once again be the case this year with games between storied programs from two of the premier college football conferences.”
Tennessee leads the football series all time against Syracuse, 3-0, dating to Dec. 31, 1966.
