Toprak Razgatlioglu: Two-time World SBK king makes MotoGP switch, leaves BMW to join Pramac Yamaha for debut season in 2026

Prima Pramac Yamaha have confirmed the signing of two-time World SBK champion Toprak Razgatlioglu for the 2026 season.

The Turkish rider has been linked with a move to Prima Pramac and indeed the MotoGP championship for some time.

He sits second in the 2025 World SBK championship standings, 31 points behind Italian leader Nicolo Bulega.

Prima Pramac’s managing director, Paolo Pavesio, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Toprak back into the Yamaha family.

“Toprak, the most victorious Yamaha rider of all time in Superbike, has proven to be an exceptional talent, securing the World SBK Title twice, which is no mean feat.

“His transition to MotoGP is both a ‘homecoming’ and an exciting new challenge that’s been set up with the clear goal of progressive growth over time.

“His fighting spirit and determination are a perfect fit for both the Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP Team and Yamaha’s bold MotoGP strategy, so we believe 2026 is the right time to make the move that many fans have been waiting for.”

“It’s as good as a factory bike as you’re ever going to get really” Hodgson said. “The argument is, should he have waited?”

Razgatlioglu looks likely to replace either Jack Miller or Miguel Oliveira for the 2026 campaign.

The 28-year-old is the reigning World SBK champion, after he cleared Bulega by 43 points in the final standings last time around.

Prima Pramac, meanwhile, guided Jorge Martin to the MotoGP championship last season in a frantic finale which went down to the wire.

Miller and Oliveira are placed 16th and 23rd, respectively, in the MotoGP standings, with the latter notably suffering injury issues throughout the campaign.

Martin, the reigning world champion, joined Aprilia Racing for the 2025 campaign.
