- The injury is being described as minor and precautionary.
- Hunter’s status for the preseason game against New Orleans is uncertain.
Jacksonville Jaguars coach Liam Coen said rookie wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter did not participate in any of the four team periods on Aug. 15 at the Miller Electric Center because of an “upper body injury.”
It was the first time in camp that the 2024 Heisman Trophy winner and No. 2 overall draft pick missed team periods in a practice. Hunter competed in 33 plays the day before in a scrimmage, 16 on offense and 17 on defense.
“An upper body deal he’s got, a little bit,” Coen said. “Just precautionary.”
When asked if Hunter will play in the preseason game on Sunday at New Orleans (1 p.m., WJAX-47), Coen replied, “We’ll figure that out. We don’t know yet.”
