LSU baseball entered the SEC Tournament confident in its chances of earning a top-eight national seed in the NCAA Tournament, regardless of what happened in Hoover.
The Tigers solidified their position with a win over Texas A&M in the quarterfinals, but LSU failed to advance out of the semis with a loss to Ole Miss.
D1Baseball dropped its updated NCAA Tournament seeding projection, and LSU remained in a good spot with the No. 5 overall seed. With a top-eight seed, LSU would host a super regional should it take care of business in round one.
Joining the Baton Rouge Regional in D1Baseball’s projection are Dallas Baptist, Miami, and Wright State. LSU already met DBU once this year, beating the Patriots at a neutral site game in February.
Opposite of the Baton Rouge Regional is the Tallahassee Regional. LSU would have a strong chance of facing Florida State in the Super Regional.
The tournament field and bracket will be revealed on Monday around 11 a.m. CT.
