The Buffalo Bills have scheduled a pre-draft visit next week with University of Texas wide receiver Isaiah Bond, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
Along with the Bills, the 21-year-old Bond has upcoming meetings with the Cleveland Browns, Kansas City Chiefs, Green Bay Packers, and Tennessee Titans.
When you take a look at Bond’s explosiveness and game-breaking ability, you can tell why teams are lining up to meet with him.
Projected to be a second-round pick by many, Bond ran a 4.39 second 40-yard dash (86th percentile), and a 1.51 second ten-yard split (85th percentile). At 5’11” and 180 pounds, it’s Bond’s speed and elusiveness that has pro scouts excited despite a lack of production in college.
Bond spent two seasons with the Alabama Crimson Tide in 2022 and 2023 before transferring to Texas for 2024. Over his three seasons, he recorded a combined 99 catches. His most productive season was in 2023 when he racked up 668 receiving yards on 48 targets. On Texas, however, he was used a lot as the downfield decoy, recording just 34 catches in his final college season. He did average an impressive 15.9 yards per catch and displayed his burning speed both on deep passes and runs after the catch.
In terms of where he stands among wide receivers in the 2025 class, Bond finds himself in the second or third tier of prospects. He is ranked as the 10th-best WR by ESPN, 14th by Pro Football Focus, and eighth by CBS Sports.
NFL.com analyst Lance Zierlein compares Bond’s game to the likes of Jaylen Waddle. “Fluid, fast and untapped,” Zierlein says. “Bond is an explosive athlete with above-average skill. He simply needs more targets to reach his potential. He’s well-suited to the NFL game and could become a very good pro within his first three seasons.”
As for Bond’s fit with the Bills, it makes sense from general manager Brandon Beane’s point of view. The Bills don’t have many needs on offense, but a speedy wide receiver would help their cause. Bond could fit into the mix with a slew of wide receivers who can all do a little of everything. Like other WRs on the Bills roster, Bond can play both inside and outside in a formation, and he has the ability to make tacklers miss with the ball in his hand.
The Bills have two second-round picks with picks 56 and 62. If they address defense with their first pick, the idea of taking a wide receiver prospect with one of their day-two picks makes a ton of sense.
