Four-time Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen has publicly named Lamine Yamal as one of his favorites for the Ballon d’Or. According to Verstappen, the Spanish prodigy is destined to claim football’s most prestigious individual honor in the coming years.

“What he’s doing at his age is impressive? It’s incredible. Obviously, the Ballon d’Or should go to the best player, but honestly, after the Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo era, there’s no clear winner anymore. For me, no one is really standing out at the moment. Maybe some are still too young or not quite ready yet. But I’m convinced that Lamine Yamal will win the Ballon d’Or in the next few years,” declared Max Verstappen.
