Bills name two captains ahead of the 2025 NFL season

For the second year in a row, the Buffalo Bills did not go over the top in terms of naming team captains.

It’s not uncommon for NFL teams to name up to five or six team captains for a season, even the Bills have done so under head coach Sean McDermott in the past.

However, for 2025, it’s just two players are again in that leadership role.

The Bills have named quarterback Josh Allen and linebacker Terrel Bernard their only team captains for the upcoming campaign:

As the quarterback and a top tier one at that, Allen is a clear selection.

Bernard is in the same light as well as he is the defensive play-caller in Buffalo.

Bernard is also a returning captain after first earning the role last year. Allen has been a captain for seven of his eight NFL seasons, aside from his rookie campaign.

Allen is also the reigning NFL MVP.

As referenced, Allen and Bernard were also the team’s also captains for the 2024 NFL season as well.

Bills Wire will continue to provide updates throughout the 2025 season.
