Carlos Alcaraz has revealed he will be throwing his support behind Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League final.
World No. 2 Alcaraz will likely be midway through his French Open title defence when the Champions League final takes place, but has revealed he will be keeping a close eye on it.
“I watch football, I watch him [Dembele] a lot as a huge fan of La Liga, and when you were playing in Barcelona you made some trouble and some pain for us [Real Madrid].
“Yeah, I’m going to watch the final. And, honestly, I’ve told everyone that I’m supporting PSG this time.”
PSG are looking to complete a historic season by winning the Champions League for the first time.
They won Ligue 1 at a canter and can do the domestic double by beating Reims in the French Cup final on May 24.
“I feel a lot of excitement, especially among supporters,” said Dembele.
“We’re preparing for these two games calmly, with the will, because we know we can make history here. And as I say, very, very calmly, with a smile on our faces, because we don’t know if these moments will ever happen again in our careers, but we hope to make history here and win the trophies.”
PSG will be appearing in just their second Champions League final, having lost their first to Bayern Munich in 2020.
“These are childhood dreams,” added Dembele.
“Ever since we were little, we’ve wanted to play these matches, these competitions, and we’re going to have a lot of fun doing it. As I said, we don’t know if it’s going to happen again in a football career and we’re going to take it with a big smile. And above all, we’re going to give it our all to make history for PSG.”
