Fantasy football rankings: Top 32 kickers for Week 1

Kickers! That’s right, kickers! They’re the least liked fantasy football position, but they also can make a difference in fantasy from week to week. Below I’ve got your rankings for Week 1 and some thoughts on how to pick a kicker to stream, which is my preferred method.

Sanders went on I.R. to start the season and will miss at least the first four games to a hip injury. The team will elevate Riley Patterson from the practice squad on game days to start the season.

For kickers, we want to look at multiple factors, and odds are one of them. We’d love for our kicker to be at home, in a dome, while playing on a team that is favored by a bunch. We can’t always find that exact set up, but we want our kicker in a game their team isn’t trying to make up points in bunches, because 7/8 points is quite better than three. We want him to kick extra points instead of his team going for two. And we’d like for his coach to prefer settling for three points instead of going for it on fourth and short in field goal range. I’m looking at you Mike Tomlin.

Ryland has a big leg and will be in the dome in New Orleans this Sunday. The Cardinals are road favorites and the Saints are expected to score the third-fewest points of the week. I expect Ryland will get his chances and he should be in line for a 50 yarder or two.

We know Little has a big leg, as he hit a 70 yard field goal in preseason. And, he was accurate last year, but on a team that had little offense. This year the hope is that new head coach Liam Coen will get the offense going, while Travis Hunter will give Trevor Lawrence another playmaker to throw to. If the offense can improve like it should, Little’s numbers could easily land in the Top 10 for fantasy this season. And for Week 1, he’s at home, his team is the favorite and the weather looks good.
