Verse went hunting on this play and found Hurts for a sack
Coming out of halftime, the Rams held a 19-7 lead but the Eagles started with the ball in the third quarter. The Rams didn’t let that stop them from padding their lead rather quickly thanks to Jared Verse, Nate Landman, Matthew Stafford and Kyren Williams.
On just the third play of the half, Verse got home for a sack on Jalen Hurts, leveling the Eagles quarterback with a huge hit. The ball was knocked out in the process, which Landman then recovered at the Eagles’ 10-yard line.
Verse took full advantage of the Eagles being without Lane Johnson, seeing blood in the water and going hunting off the edge.
One play after the fumble recovery, Stafford hit Williams for a 10-yard touchdown to give the Rams a 26-7 lead just 48 seconds into the third quarter.
Verse has had a huge impact on this game, as has Williams, and they’re a big reason the Rams are leading by as many points as they are.
