LSU football adds two offensive linemen to transfer portal class

LSU football began the process of bolstering its offensive line on Thursday, securing commitments from two offensive linemen.

Former North Carolina Central tackle Ja’Quan Sprinkle announced his pledge on social media. Later in the evening, JUCO prospect Ja’Kolby Jones revealed his commitment to the Tigers.

The additions were LSU’s first two offensive line reinforcements of the transfer period. It’s a position of need for the Tigers after a handful of starters entered the transfer portal. Along with the transfer exits, LSU guard Josh Thompson is off to the NFL. Only a small percentage of LSU’s offensive line snaps from the 2025 squad will be back in 2026.

Regardless of who went and who stayed, LSU needed to rebuild the room. LSU’s offensive line was among the worst in the SEC in 2025.

Sprinkle brings over 1,300 snaps of experience from the FCS level. He posted a 74.0 pass blocking grade in 2025, according to Pro Football Focus. It’s unclear if Sprinkle will earn a starting role, but the Tigers need depth.

Jones hails from Copiah-Lincoln Community College. He’s one of the top-ranked JUCO transfers of the class and brings upside to LSU’s offensive line room. Jones is a Louisiana native and was once a Georgia Tech commit. He’s talented enough to garner the attention of Power Four coaches, but its unclear what led Jones to the JUCO level.

LSU isn’t done and the Tigers will look to add some offensive linemen with Power Four experience.
