Patriots Wednesday Week 17 injury report: Team gets surprise return

The New England Patriots were missing multiple starters for Wednesday’s practice.

They were hit hard with injuries in their Sunday Night Football win over the Baltimore Ravens. It led to the team making multiple roster moves on Tuesday, ahead of their Week 17 rematch with the New York Jets.

Patriots coach Mike Vrabel revealed that veteran linebacker Robert Spillane would need a “Christmas miracle” to practice this week. Running back TreVeyon Henderson, guard Jared Wilson and wide receiver Kayshon Boutte are also all in concussion protocol.

Granted, there was some good news on Wednesday with Henderson showing up to practice as a limited participant. He wore a red non-contact jersey, which indicates he is further along than Wilson and Boutte in concussion protocol. The Patriots had eight players in total listed as non-participants at practice.
