Seattle announces team captains for Week 2 game

The Seattle Seahawks are on their way to the Steel City of Pittsburgh for a rare road trip against the Steelers. Despite these teams being in opposite conferences, the Seahawks and Steelers will meet for the fourth time in the last seven seasons.

Ahead of the rematch of Super Bowl XL on Sunday, the Seahawks announced their captains for Week 2. Instead of a set list of captains for the season like most teams, Seattle opts to have weekly captains selected by the team. The captains for Week 2 are listed below:

  • RB Zach Charbonnet
  • LT Charles Cross
  • S Julian Love
  • TE AJ Barner

Charbonnet getting the captain nod this week speaks to his increased status in the running back room. Charbonnet was the best running back for the Seahawks last week, and is making the case he should move up on the depth chart. As for Julian Love, who missed a practice this week, his captain status is a great indicator he will be ready to play at full speed against the Steelers.

Seattle kicks off Week 2 action on Sunday at 10:00 am Pacific Time on FOX.
