The Pittsburgh Steelers wasted no time getting Aaron Rodgers’ new offensive line up to speed.
According to The Athletic’s Mike DeFabo, the Steelers assured the o-line would be ready for the arrival of Rodgers — briefing the unit on his tendencies and cadence before they even took a snap with him.
“Shortly after Rodgers signed, the Steelers cut up TV copies of the new signal caller’s cadence and loaded the clips onto each offensive lineman’s iPad. The goal was to get everyone comfortable before they ever took a snap with the future Hall of Fame QB,” DeFabo wrote. “Rodgers also took a day to go through each of his cadences in person with the offensive line.”
Many have speculated that the success of the Pittsburgh Steelers this upcoming season will rely heavily on the offensive line’s ability to keep Rodgers upright — arguably the biggest area of concern over the past several seasons.
With OT Broderick Jones switching to the left side of the line, OT Troy Fautanu healthy heading into the regular season, and the interior offensive line arguably one of the strongest in the league, chemistry with Rodgers will be key in 2025.
