When you’ve gone a long time without the sweet taste of victory, you tend to forget just how sweet it is.

That was the case for the Twentynine Palms Wildcats on Friday as they rolled to a 41-12 victory over Rubidoux. It was their first win of the season and ended a seven-game losing streak dating back to last year.

“Finally, a win!” read the text from coach Eric Tili after the home game. The win was a coming-out party for sophomore quarterback Josh Reynoso. Reynoso was an almost perfect 15 of 19 passing in the game for 250 yards and four touchdowns.

Logan Candelaria was his favorite target, hauling in seven catches for 125 yards. Senior QB Bubba Corney contributed as well, throwing one pass and getting max value from it with a 53-yard TD pass.

Defensively, the Wildcats were led by Coy Wallace with 15 tackles, including a sack and two tackles for loss.

The Wildcats (1-2) will look to keep the momentum going next week when they play at Hemet West Valley on Friday.
