The top-ranked Florida gymnastics team has become Gainesville’s best show in 2026. For the first time, that show is going on the road.

The Gators visit No. 11 Auburn on Friday, Jan. 23, from Neville Arena on the Plains.

The SEC has been whacky this season in terms of scoring, and Auburn is the epitome of that. It ranked No. 5 after its opening meet win over N.C. State, but a loss to Arkansas to start conference play dropped it down the rankings to No. 11.

AU’s situation has served as a message from coach Jenny Rowland to the Gators. Just because you do well one week doesn’t mean it’s guaranteed the next.

“You can’t ride the wave of emotions, and you have to stay consistent,” Rowland said. “We warm up 7-8 athletes on each event to allow for that fluctuation. When it’s time to raise their hand, they should be cool, collected and prepared.”

Florida struggled on the road in 2025. It lost three road meets, but this season is different and freshmen like Jayla Booker are excited to embark on new territory.

“We just have to stay in our bubble and not focus on what’s around us,” Booker said.

UF’s score dropped slightly last week vs. Alabama, but the Gators still turned in dominant beam and bar performances to make up for a slow start on vault and defeat the Crimson Tide.
