David Anthony Burke, the man better known as D4vd who is now facing charges in the shocking murder of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, has apparently settled into a VERY tightly controlled routine behind bars as he awaits trial.
And wow, this is about as structured as it gets.
As we’ve been reporting, Burke has been housed at the Los Angeles County Twin Towers Correctional Facility since his April 16 arrest on charges that he murdered Celeste. Prosecutors accuse him of first-degree murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14, and unlawful mutilation of human remains. He has pleaded not guilty, FYI.

But now, according to a source who spoke to People on Friday, Burke’s housing assignment and daily life at Twin Towers is finally coming to light — and it is extremely tightly regimented. The insider told the outlet that Burke is in a cordoned-off place within the facility, one meant for inmates with special needs:
“The inmates housed there have mental health needs and are kept apart from other inmates.”
That means Burke reportedly spends his days alone in a single cell under around-the-clock monitoring, with welfare checks approximately every 15 minutes and surveillance cameras constantly watching the unit.
Despite the high-security conditions, the source claimed Burke has kept a low profile. In fact, they said:
“He hasn’t had any issues.”
That is evidently a bit better than some other recent Twin Towers residents can say…
Apparently, D4vd has received no disciplinary infractions since arriving at the jail and reportedly eats all three of his daily meals alone.
There is one other detail that really stands out, here, too. According to the same source:
“He also has not had any visitors.”
Well…
Meals reportedly provide the biggest milestones in his day, with breakfast served around 6 a.m., lunch before noon, and dinner around 5 p.m. The source even claimed the food at Twin Towers is considered “better” than what’s served at some other Los Angeles County jails. As for eating, the source explained:
“He has about an hour to eat. Then a deputy collects the tray from inside the cell.”
His recent preliminary hearing also came with an early wake-up call — even earlier than his usual rise before 6 a.m.!
On preliminary hearing day, way before dawn (as it, at 4 a.m.), Burke reportedly woke, showered, changed into an orange jail-issued jumpsuit, ate breakfast, and was transported downtown for court. He even requested a haircut before the proceedings, which jail staff arranged.

During the hearing, prosecutors laid out allegations that Burke fatally stabbed Celeste, dismembered her remains, and attempted to conceal evidence, citing forensic evidence, digital communications, and witness testimony. His defense attorneys challenged portions of that evidence through cross-examination, but after hearing the evidence, the judge ruled there was enough for the case to proceed to trial.
Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman has recently said prosecutors are considering whether to seek the death penalty, though no final decision has been made.
Burke is scheduled to be arraigned on Aug. 31 as the case moves into its next chapter…
